The challenge
New construction on a Lake Forest lakefront site, with owners coming off a difficult prior integration experience. The brief was a system the family could actually use day-to-day, that respected the architecture of the site, and that worked on the first try.
Technical scope
Savant Pro Host backbone with a redundant Ubiquiti network core. 47 Lutron HomeWorks QSX keypads programmed with circadian Daylight Mode scenes tied to true sunrise/sunset at Lake Forest latitude. Whole-home audio across 22 zones via Sonos and Savant audio matrix, hidden in-wall and in weather-rated outdoor enclosures. Motorized roller and Roman shades on 31 openings, automated by sun-angle and indoor temperature feedback. Climate zoning across 8 HVAC zones with Savant-integrated thermostats.
Outcome
Move-in occurred on the planned date with the system fully commissioned. Daily operation since has been routine — the system runs the household scenes the family asked for, and post-installation service has consisted of a single scheduled firmware update handled remotely.
